Placement & Acclimation

Start the coral in a slightly lower-light area than its final target and increase light exposure gradually. Watch polyp extension, tissue inflation, and coloration when adjusting placement. Avoid direct blasting flow and allow room for full polyp extension.

Water Chemistry

Stable parameters are more important than chasing exact numbers. A practical reef range is alkalinity around 7.5–9.0 dKH, calcium 400–450 ppm, and magnesium 1250–1400 ppm with measurable nitrate and phosphate. Avoid rapid swings.

Feeding

Most photosynthetic corals receive much of their energy from light, but appropriate coral foods and naturally available plankton can support growth. If target feeding, use small portions and avoid overfeeding the aquarium.
